Home Remedies For Dry Skin In Winters

Winter brings with it dry, flaky and cracked skin. With freezing temperatures, unhealthy food and dry heater air, it just gets worse. Try these five useful remedies
that will keep your skin hydrated and nourished.

1. Olive oil : Either dab a thin layer of olive oil along with your regular moisturiser, or apply it all over your body 30 minutes before taking shower.

2. Milk : Milk has many benefits. It has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the skin. It also exfoliates dead skin cells and increases the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Prepare a mixture of rose water,
lemon juice and milk. Apply it with cotton on your face and neck, and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off. It will remove the tan from your face and leave it with a healthy glow.

3. Honey : Honey has antioxidants and antimicrobial properties. It also has many essential vitamins and minerals that
nourish your skin. Apply honey daily on your face before your shower to enjoy soft, supple and well- moisturised skin.

4. Yogurt :  Just slather a bit of yogurt onto your face, keep for on 10 minutes and then wash it off. The antioxidants and good bacteria of yogurt will leave your skin
supple and smooth. The lactic acid in yogurt also helps prevent itchiness. For glowing skin, make a face pack by mixing yogurt, mashed papaya and a tablespoon of honey with a few drops of lemon juice. You will get beautiful skin in less than 20 minutes.

5. Coconut oil : Coconut oil has a lot of fatty acids that make up for the loss of moisture from the skin. It also works as a natural sunscreen and prevents premature ageing.
Apply it to your face and body daily before going to bed.
